HOUSE CALL DOCTORS

Visiting Physicians and Foot Doctors in Southeast Michigan (Detroit Metro Area)

Making a trip to the Emergency Room, hospital or physicians office is stressful enough for healthy individuals, let alone seniors with multiple chronic conditions. Appointments often require a family member or caregiver to take off from work, and pose a potential injury risk. Follow-up scheduling can also be an issue as many primary care offices are very busy.

House Call Doctors can help!

You may recall the days long ago when a doctor, carrying his black medical bag, visited patients at home to address everything from the measles to childbirth. Now, as a result of a 2001 change in Medicare benefits, physicians and medical groups specializing in house calls have again become available to older adults. Known as “visiting physicians”, “home care physicians”, “Mobile Doctors” or “house call physician” these professionals can provide an array of services in the privacy, comfort and convenience of your own home.

Who are House Call physicians?

Physicians specialized in house calls are usually board-certified in internal medicine or geriatric medicine, and have extensive experience in adult and geriatric care. They operate much like an office practice, but they are dedicated exclusively to making house calls.
